All That Glitters
”.. That is the respectful way to greet your parents?” He supplied with an awkward frown.
“Oh.. Well okay. I don’t know, I always greeted my mom with a hug and kiss. And said good bye that way. And some times I’d get them for no reason.” He shrugged.
“But your mom wasn’t a Lady.” He pointed out.
Narrows his eyes and punches Sadik in the jaw, standing up. “The fuck she wasn’t! My mother was kind and gentle and perfect despite this work! She could have given me up but she didn’t! So fuck you and get out!”
Sadik was suddenly struck by not only a fist but his first sight of Al’s anger. “Al, I said nothing about your mother’s integrity or character. I only said she wasn’t married to a Lord.” He explained in utter confusion. He didn’t understand anything going on tonight.
Al was breathing heavy as he calmed down. He went from enraged to ashamed for misunderstanding the Turk. “Oh…” Face red he looked down as he moved away from Sadik. “Sorry… Usually when people say that, they’re insultin’ her… I shouldn’t have over reacted like that.” The blonde apologized while mentally cursing himself for letting his temper get the better of him.
He looked away then. “It’s alright.. I shouldn’t have spoken in a way that seemed to belittle your mother. I apologize.” Sadik said, feeling like his upbringing was causing a bigger rift between them.

He soon returned with a few bottles in a wooden box. “Sadik?” He said to get his attention. “We can leave if you wish.”
Sadik turned around and nodded with assent. “Yes, of course. We will be in time for lunch, if you have no other business to attend to.” He said as he stood straight, ready to go.

“Hm.”
“Lotsa dancing tonight!” He clapped his hands and jumped to his feet, staggering a little to keep his balance.
Sadik walked over as the slow first part played. “But now with me.” He smiled a little as he reached out to stroke his cheek lightly.
Iraklís put his arm over Sadik’s shoulders and grinned at him. When the music picked up speed he began to throw his legs again, sidestep and jump to the beat. Meanwhile he clumsily sang along, chuckling and chortling all the time.
He grinned and watched him dance in an amusing manner.”How do you stay on your feet?” Sadik chuckled as he danced regularly but had a hop in his step for the beat.
“I dun think about it.” He grinned and moved to wrap his arms around Sadik. He seemed to have decided that kissing was better than dancing. Iraklís pulled him closer and kissed him deeply.
This was nice. too. Sadik kissed him back hotly as he slid his hands down the back of Iraklis’ pants to press their hips together so Sadik could still have them sorta dance as they shared a kiss. He let his tongue slip out without hesitation to prod all the spots that he liked.

Sadik’s brows furrowed. “Why would anyone do that? That is weird.”
Al just stared for a bit. “..Because it’s funny? Your parents never pulled you into bear hugs and tickled you? Mama would pin me down and blow raspberries on my belly until I was about to pee myself from laughing.”
“That sounds unpleasant.” He commented.
“Not really. It’s funny.” He replied with a small frown. “I’m gonna assume there wasn’t a lot of physical contact with your parents, was there?”
Sadik rose a brow. “No, I kissed their hands and hugged my mother when it was appropriate.”
That just made Al frown harder. “Kissed their hands? Why?”

He took it and nodded. Then he rose to his feet. “There is no reason for you to stay behind. Will you come along?” Iraklís asked him and extended his hand to him.
Sadik nodded but stared at his hand in confusion for a moment. Did he take it? He hesitantly took the hand and went along with him, trying to memerize the pleasant feeling the simple act evoked.
It wasn’t the first time had taken his hand so he didn’t understand Sadik’s initial hesitation. Still he didn’t bother dwelling on it. He led Sadik down the halls and through a few doors until they reached a darker room that smelled of every herb and flower to ever grow on this earth. Iraklís knocked against the door frame and entered the room. Perfumes were ripening in big tubs and other liquids were collected in phials and bottles. An elderly man sat among the glasses and was grinding a few flowers as it seemed. Iraklís approached him politely and quietly talked to him about the goods he planned to purchase.
He followed him silently, amazed by the sudden wall of sensations that hit him when he entered the room. Sadik wandered around briefly as he looked at what there was to see, letting Iraklis handle goods that he understood better.

“That’s mean.” He frowned unhappily at the other, not understanding what had transpired.
Al cooed at him and pulled the Turk into a hug, kissing his cheek. “Better?”
Sadik smiled tentatively. “I guess..?”
“You guess? Well then tell me how to make it all better.” He chuckled and ran a hand through the others hair.
“You could tell me what that was about..” He offered up as a suggestion.
“Ticklin’ you?” Al shrugged and grinned. “To make you laugh and because I could. You act like you’ve never been tickled before.”
Sadik’s brows furrowed. “Why would anyone do that? That is weird.”

Iraklís leaned back and relaxed. “Of course.” He echoed quietly. After a while the madame shooed the girls away to go back to work. They departed reluctantly and giggling, with all kinds of wishes for Sadik and Iraklís. Eventually they were gone and the older woman turn to Iraklís. “I trust you are well?”
“Yes,” He nodded. “I’m being taken care of very well.”
“Just know that you’ll always find work and a home here.” She smiled. Iraklís chuckled quietly. “Wouldn’t I just? I was quite worried you wouldn’t even let me in, to be honest.”
She waved it off and shook her head. “What’s past is past. No need to dwell on it. We know you had your reasons.” She bent down and gave his cheek a wet kiss. “I have to go back out. Good luck to both of you. Take care.” With that she disappeared as well.
Sadik stayed silent after that, just nodding his head when the exiting girls addressed him. He listened to what the two had to say before going back to observing patterns in the carpets. “Charming bunch.” He commented.
“They’re the closest thing I have to a family.” He shrugged a little. “They were overly excited. Normally they act more their age.” Iraklís assured him and smiled. “I was planning on picking up some proper oils here. Is that alright?”
The Turk nodded and pulled out his pouch of leftover gold. “Buy whatever you wish.” He gave permission as he handed it over.
